about
Like a good pair of cowboy boots, therapists get better with age.
I’m the type of therapist who tries hard not to sound like a therapist but who will still say things like, “Tell me more,” because I really do want you to tell me more. Each of us has a story and some wisdom to share, and I want to hear yours.
In college, I studied Cultural Anthropology at Stanford University and fell in love with the idea that language and stories shape us. I went on to earn my Master of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work, where I received clinical training in psychodynamic theory, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, family systems, trauma theory, and evidence-based practices, all of which inform my approach.
Since then, I’ve completed hundreds of hours of professional education in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and the Enneagram, a framework that helps identify personality patterns and pathways for growth. I’m an IFS Level 1 trained therapist and am currently enrolled in a program to become a Certified Narrative Enneagram Practitioner.
I’ve practiced social work for over 20 years and, like you, I’m still in process. I’m shaping and being shaped by my life and the people in it. Each session, I show up, pay attention, and work to become a better therapist. Some days I even wear my cowboy boots.
